Jim Daviner began painting in 1954. A self-taught artist, he successfully blends techniques ranging from expressionism to modern representation in his work. He is a keen observer, using his brush to capture observations in a palette of exciting and exacting compositions. Jim has been a contributor of wildlife and botanical art to the magazine, Fur-Fish-Game.
The History Channel program The Wrath of God, within their Nor’easter segment, featured Jim’s orginal watercolor, titled USS Portland – Lost at Sea. The painting illustrated the loss of the USS Portland sidewheel steamboat during the terrible storm of 1898.
